Suffering Improves Him

In the movie Moonstone I found him more appealing, I think because he had a meatier role, one that required him to express deeper emotions. Also, the more he suffers, the more character his face seems to acquire; I think it lends him a maturity that wipes out some of that "Ken doll" look. Then, again, perhaps he was a bit older when he did Moonstone than he was in S&S, and there again, I thought him most appealing in S&S when he was suffering the most: the scene in which he must leave for London. My heart kind of went out to him, then...still, I thought Marianne really dumb for preferring him to Colonel
