I understand your point, but don't agree...

] He definitely doesn't make my heart beat faster. For one thing, he's got a too-smooth Ken-doll quality that doesn't appeal to me...and for another, he's got a certain brand of self-assured handsomeness that I associate very strongly with men who are full of themselves. My instant reaction is not to react to them, because they're so used to it and expect it. Instead I find myself giving them sardonic, raised-eyebrow, yes-we-both-know-you're-handsome looks. Mind you, I think it makes him perfect for the part. He's got Mr. Too Good to Be True written in every overperfect line of his face.

I have to admit he did little or nothing for me when I first saw S&S. Who could look at or think about him with Alan Rickman on screen????? But he was exactly what I had imagined as Willoughby.

Since then I've had an opportunity to see him in other roles, including Buccaneers, The Moonstone, and even the dreadful House of Frankenstein. And I have to admit I find him very charming indeed, as well as a good actor.

His looks do seem almost too perfect at times, but I can't complain!
