I remember one of the female columist (Anna Quinlan?)
said in an interview that men can roughly be divided
into two types - Boyfriend or Husband. A Boyfriend
type man is one who would make a woman feels wonderful,
romantic but is generally unreliable. A Husband type
man is one who will not excite a woman much but will
always be there for her. She said women should not make
the mistake of marrying the Boyfriend type. She gave
the example of Bill Clinton as a Boyfriend type and Al
Gore as a Husband type. I often thought Willouhby is very
much a Boyfriend type and Brandon is very much a Husband type. Even though Marianne did not really had a chance
to chose, she ended up with the right choice. Helen made
the wrong choice, mistaking a exciting 'boyfriend' for a
dependable husband.
