] Elinor is a bit like jane, but Marianne is no Elizabeth- thus the contrast.
] I do see resemblances of sorts in Lydia and Marianne.
Jane and Elinor have reserve and maturity and sense. But I do see similarities between Marianne and Elizabeth. They both spoke their minds without hesitance. They both struggled through heartache's, though Marianne's a bit more intense. Like Elizabeth, Marianne grew to love a man she could before never imagine marrying. Although Marianne's sensibility was much stronger than Elizabeth's, they both struggled with it.
As for Lydia's similarity to Marianne, I do not agree. They were both immature, but Marianne felt things very deeply, from the begining to the end, whereas Lydia was giddy and even shallow at times. Besides immaturity,(IMHO) their personalities revolt.
PS. Elinor could never be like Charlotte, in my humble opinion, because she did not settle. She married someone she loved very much.
