My Thoughts Were Similar

I had some similar thoughts about "Tenant...", that this story could have been a possible sequel to Marianne's story had she married the Willoughby of our nightmares. Yet, it is hard to know....but, certainly it is one possibility among several. Several possibilities also include:
1) Marrying Willoughby and being very happy...
2) Marrying Brandon out of convenience, and being miserable/happy.
3) Not marrying anyone and either being discontented or not.
Also there are plenty of subsets to each scenario represented above, I am sure....as in how the gentleman fared. Marriage has so many variables that either contribute to its success or not, and so much depends on the attitudes of the partners. It's a puzzle, and like a puzzle, keeps us entertained with figuring out all the possibilities.
