Marianne vs. Elinor

Here's a question that I have been brewing around for a while. Elinor has always been the dominant one in the two sisters' relationship, both by birth and by nature. After their marriages, Elinor is now considerably lower down the social ladder from her sister, Marianne. Marianne is now married to Elinor's husband's employer (patron?). How is that going to affect their relationship?

Now when you factor in Edward's passiveness, you have a most interesting mix.

I made a post sometime ago basically stating that I had concerns upon Elinor's and Edward's long-term happiness, given their different personalities. Don't you think that having to kowtow to her head-strong little sister might cause further aggrevation? I don't see Elinor fitting easily into the Charlotte Lucas mold, do you?

Mark
