"She was not the same Marianne" could perhaps be changed to, her passionate spirit was lost. I do agree that she was a better person. She realized many of her remarks, to Brandon and others, were very hurtful, and knew she could no longer be so cruel(she wouldn't wish anyone to feel what she had felt). IMHO, her sense grew , but her sensibility was gone. I guess I just think it is sad.
