] How do you define "reward" -- getting what you want, or getting what you deserve? Do any of you who are arguing that it is terrible that she didn't end up marrying Willoughby, really think that she would be happy married to him? two.

I am a great fan of Brandon! but, that is not the point and I am not Marianne. Having said that, we seem to define happiness and stability on our terms, this may not be someone else's idea of how life should be lived.

I am arguing this point because I do come from a culture where marriages are arranged and although i may not subscribe to this I know a lot of people's idea of love/happiness/contentment/adjustment are not like mine.

Can I therefore judge what their priorities might be! i think not.

I am not sure how many people feel marianne would be happy with brandon????
