Somehow I knew that you'd like Marianne too, Amy. I agree Marianne is so misunderstood. Maybe Austen conceived her as a flighty young girl but she grew to be so much more in the book, to me. She's the part of us all that believes in people and in dreams. Why is that necessarily a bad thing?

Don't get me wrong, I can see Elinor's side of things and I'm sure we all can. We have to live in the real world and be on our guard - but I don't have to like it.
