when you see real love matches the regard/admiration for the partner just shines through.
Yes....as obvious as a full moon on a clear night is real love...and on a less poetic note: I think when you truly love a person...who care more about their comfort...their needs...than your own sometimes. Not at all times, of course..I am not speaking of complete self-effacement, but I think the feelings and needs of the beloved must be considered above those of anyone else...even of children born to the union, or as an old saying goes: "Children learn of love by watching their parents love one another...or not love one another."
Of course, there are those who would argue that one usual does love another because it is pleasing to them...and that love is essentially selfish in that way, but I do think it's that way at first. Love seems to go in stages....and if one stays stuck in the first stage...infatuation...then that love does not endure anything that challenges it. But love has to mature beyond that point....beyond passon and sexual pleasure to wanting the best for your partner...and wanting to faciliate that as much as possible. So very hard to define true love, isn't it!
