I think Brandon and Marianne never had that wow! kind of passionate love, at least she didn't have it for him. But I like to imagine that they did have a great married kind of love. She respected him and her role as his wife. And he loved her in his quiet sort of way, and they had a very nice life together. With Willoughby, there would have been sparks flying all the time, which can be exhilating, but also exhausting. There's much to be said for the married kind of love. And it's nice if you get to experience both kinds in life.
