] I find it hard to believe(after watching the movie), that W did not love Marianne. They looked hit by the proverbial thunderbolt. Anyone???????
Marianne would give us a reproof for using such language (as Willoughby himself said). In the book, when Willoughby talks to Elinor, he says that his heart was never inconstant to Marianne. But, JA also tells us that he wasn't forever miserable even though Marianne married the Colonel.
