Hav you ever really watched Winslet in the first scene with Col Brandon? The one where she is playing the pianoforte and singing "Weep you no more...". I thought nothing of their introductions the first few times I sw it but after reading the interview with Kate Winslet in which she mentioned the first time she saw him in the dressing room and felt like a star struck teen idol (I don't think those were her exac words but you get the gist). I saw that same sort of shy admiration for him in that scene...was wondering what Marianne's first impressions of him were and whether Winslet was true to those...I thought she looked like she was interested in him and not repulsed. =)
Along the same lines....having heard that Greg Wise and Emma Thompson were romantically involved I see some of this in the picnic scene on the front lawn of Barton Cottage...when he does the imitation of Mrs Jennings and goes right up to her face...and when she is just watching him..it honestly look like she's interested in him, and not just as a brother in law as the story would suggest at that point.
I dunno...I could be just over-analyzing but its something to think about. Any one else notice these things?
