Seing you post last night, my sister insested that we put you to right.
The Story of Brandon & Marianne is the story of a love that in unrequitted for a very long period of time. It is onesided affair almost up to the the defining moment the Thank You Colonel Brandon scene. one critic wrote about how that one look changes the course of two lives. The scenes go directly to the poetic poetry reading scene establishing a timid intimacy between the couple. In interviews as well as in Emma Thompsons book it are explained how Ang Lee directed Alan Rickman to do less and less in the scene concluding in the almost non excisting but deeeply felt half smile, which Barbara so kindly have shared with us.
I do not like to critize my favorite movie, but I could have done without the following scene which give the impression that Marianne is not quite over Willoughby yet. I like to think that she is.

- And another look...this one from Marianne Rebecca3 15:31:29 5/30/98 (0)
