Me either. "Tricked" is to strong, because I think she flirted in order to get him to notice her and it worked. Edward was the one responsible for letting her attentions make him think he loves her.And, if she had no feelings for Edward at all and was just waiting until something better came along--well, she had plenty of opportunity being at her uncle's school with all the young men who came around to go for something better!
Well... Edward is supposed to be pretty darn rich (probably much richer than the general sort who would show up at Mr. Pratt's--most rich folks went to "public" school), and he's handsome enough to tempt Elinor ;). I guess all I mean is that Edward seems a good catch to Lucy, and she isn't likely to run across any better. I think that's her main motivation in capturing his heart (even if his heart doesn't remain captive;). I don't think she ever really loved him.
