] To begin with, Edward did ask her to marry him because he fancied her, thought her pretty and was bored. I don't think she tricked him into asking her, and I believe she had genuine feelings for him as a person, in addition to his money.

I think her feelings for Edward are completely a lie and are exposed as such when she so rapidly transfers her affections to Robert once it's clear she'll be poor. Her behavior to everyone is so artificial that I always get the feeling that she is using everyone to her own ends, that there is not once ounce of true feeling in her. She's like a poor Miss Bingley to me.
