I've never liked SS. this may be why I was able to love SS2 so much. Emma Thompson made Elinor so much more human both in the screenplay and in her portrayl that I was able to like her for the first time in my life. Wish I could say the same about Marianne. Marianne is a lot like Juliet (never liked her either), as much with her feelings of being in love as in love. Juliet and Marianne make such a noise niether of them ever stops to see what is going on around them.
It's ironic, I really like this page with out ever having liked the book.
