I believe in Birth order like some believe in astrology.
An Older Sister of a Sister (OSS) by 4 years, I always tried to achieve,
to do it all, to honor the commitments, worked 24 years while raising two children by remote control (thanks to our mom and Divine grace, they're turning out okay) and endured a very tumultuous marriage which finally is turning out okay, too, etc. etc. Sis, meanwhile, whooped it up, went to a private college bcz the state U. wanted to put her on scholastic probation for her high school 2.0 GPA, married (badly) at 22, divorced at 28 and bought a brand-new house at 33!But I ramble, sorry. My 2 bits: I like Marianne, yes I do! I find her passion and forthrightness and even her abandon refreshing and decisive, assertive!
BTW: Most birth-order writings count only the sibs born less than 7 years before or after yourself. I can attest to this from personal history. Margaret, therefore, is probably more an only child - except for champing at the bit as she sees her adult sisters go to town, etc. - than a YSS.
FWIW.
