In response to Scene 147: Missing Brandon running up the hill, written by Andrea on March 04, 1998 at 18:09:36

Back to the Sense and Sensibility board ] Of all the scenes cut from the film, the omission of this one was the most jarring for me. When Mrs. Palmer handed Elinor a cup of tea followed by Mr. Palmer handing her a cup of tea, I was sure the film had broken and the projectionist spliced it together leaving out something. Then I read the screenplay and found what was missing. I can't help thinking what was shot must have been unusable for some reason. It's hard to believe this little scene would be cut for time.

Andrea,
I can only imagine the brilliance of that scene. "BRANDON runs up the hillside as though the devil were at his heels." This would have been romance at its pinnacle. I wish Ang Lee didn't cut it out. Maybe in the archives at Columbia Pictures there's film of Alan Rickman running up a hill. Only in our dreams.....:)
Mahalo,
elle :)
