Yes--there is a line that haunts me describing Edward's feelings. Elinor has mometarily turned her face away from him and he looks at her as if he might hereafter have a reason to wish the distance between the mansion and the parsonage much greater. Just imagine Edward had he been married to Lucy and been required to live next door to Elinor as Mrs. Brandon!
