] I have just seen the (1995) cinematic adaptation of "Sense and Sensibility" and I think that it follows the novel very well. Although the movie does leave the exact relationships of some characters to others vague (e.g., why is "Miss Steele" traveling in the same social circles as the Jennings and the Dashwoods?), overall it does a fair job.
...as far as I can tell Mr Lee and ET have changed the situation for Sir John.
The novel states that Lady Middleton is still alive, if I am correct, but the film adaptation does not.
Please feel free to put me straight if I am not in the right.
