I think it makes a great difference what the movie and who the writer as to whether or not I like this type of publication. I found ET's writings highly entertaining and in a way, they enhanced the magic for me. The thought that those "real" people go through all that work and hassle and fun and turmoil to turn out such a magnificent product.

I admire the finished product more knowing what went into it. I also like the fact that it's not terribly technical (same book on "Titanic" would bore me terribly) more human touch.

Why the "ovulated" comment? ET seems to have a pretty off the wall sense of humor (used to be a stand-up comic) and I think it did two things 1. showed her rapport with AR and 2. showed me just how punchy they would get and AR's dry, droll response of a perfect foil for her.

To read the diaries, you'd think ET had much more of a thing for Hugh Grant, or even Alan Rickman.
