] Yes, I like the movie a lot too. I think Emma Thompson
] did a wonderful job with the script and the main actors are wonderful. This is especially clear to me since I had
] watched the BBC adaptation of the book before the movie.
] The movie, IMHO, is so much better than the BBC program.
] I also loved the recent BBC dadaptation of P&P and the
] movie Persuasion, I think they are both wonderful.
] For your information - there are two versions of Emma
] release last year, a movie version starring Gweneth
] Paltrow and a TV version starring Kate Beckinsale (sp?).
] The movie version is much lighter and funnier. The TV version is more faithfully casted (age, looks). I have also
] seen the BBC version of Northanger Abbey, which I thought
] was the weakest adaptation of all the Austen work and Mansfield Park wich is quite faithful but not as wonderfull
] as the recent adaptations in movies and on TV.
I couldn't agree with you more - I thought the BBC's S&S was awful too and didn't even go as near as Emma Thompson boots in the script and act. I was so glad that she got the Oscar for the script which she totally deserved. On the other hand Persuasion and P&P and especially P&P was great and I just loved the actress that played Elizabeth-she was really good. I am going to see Emma as soon as I have some free time (which means on the holidays -school in Israel leaves you very little free time).anyway thanks for answering and maybe we'll talk again, Yoni.
