Yes, Rita, it certainly looks as if Lucy were rewarded for her deviousness, inconstancy, and greed. However, as to her marital happiness, I think she will be as likely to be happy as Willoughby. Both of them threw away the prospect of true love when they chose money over all. Although, to my mind, Willoughby is a much more sympathetic character...he was just foolish. But Lucy was just plain greedy...what else can you say? Mrs. Ferrars causes me to do a slow boil as well....in fact the whole darn Ferrars family are pretty worthless, when you come right down to it (except Edward, of course, but he must be a genetic fluke...)
