In other words, would it have been during this era or later that they began to realize that this did more harm than good and tried other methids?
I seem to remember Clara Barton (who was an adult around the time of the American Civil War [1861-1865] I think...) was bled, or one of her siblings was bled, as a child at least, so that practice was probably still in full swing in Regency times. I think.
