over-generous use of words like "never" and "always".Whenever I see it written "never" my mind rebels, and like the chorus questioning the Captain of the Pinafore, I mutter under my breath "What! NEVER????" .I don't remember reading what Mr Pool says

BTW, anybody else think it was not an accident in the new adaptation that the old Mrs Musgrove says, "What never?" at the dinner table when the Capt is talking about transporting familiies?
I tried singing "I am the Captain..." every morning to my sons, thinking they'd be delighted to burst in with the appropriate responses, "We're very very good and be it understood, she commands a right good crew!" They declined to participate before 8 a.m.
