In the new Jane Austen Mystery lorgnets on a long ribbon (just like the ones Joan Rivers was selling a couple of Christmases ago on QVC) are called quizzing glasses. In case you missed Joan's hawking, you can see one in PP0, the MGM version, being worn by Sir William Lucas.
