] Misty was referring to an occasion where the egg was left in for several hours, and assumably outdoors. That is quite different than whipping an egg in your hair and washing it out soon. But if you are one afraid of salmonella (or however you spell it) I would wash the hair and the hands very well! Especially if you have children. But I don't think twice before enjoying a good egg nog on Christmas! I just don't let my children enjoy it, with or without the rum!
