I think you misunderstood the post. We have pretty much exhausted the post-chaise definition (very detailed posts are in the archives) , and the matter of question was limited to the how the post-chaise itself was used, whether it was A) one precise type of vehicle or B) like the hackney coach, meaning they were different types and perhaps basically the rented ones were cast-off carriages, the chariot for example. This might sound peculiar, but we sometimes tend to nitpick on the precise details which many books tend to overlook or leave ambiguous for our standards. This particular question though was cleared by this book I have. Of course anything you have to add is always appreciated!
