I haven't been there in awhile, but I enjoyed going. During the fall they have a some sort of festival with wine tasting and sheep dog trials, which I have always meant to go to, but never quite made it.

] Yeah, the Battle of New Orleans, in which Andrew Jackson distinguished himself was actually fought after the Treaty that ended the War of 1812 was signed.

It was also the only battle (of the war of 1812) that the British suffered a defeat. And it was a crushing defeat--something like 2000 british casualties to only 11 american

Plus many of the survivors of the battle were sent to immediately to Belgium upon their return to fight at Waterloo.
