In response to salt herring, written by P. Bingham on September 12, 1998 at 16:27:06

To L and T index
] Salt herring was a very popular dish, especially among men, whom, a number of them anyway, enjoyed for breakfast, along with the wonderful-tasting (yuck!) kippers. These things today can be found in a can in the tuna section of your grocery store if your up to trying it, a version of it anyway.

Please excuse my little error - I don't know where my head was - kippers are herring. And so if you aim to try the salt herring, buy the kipper snacks. My husband loves them with lime and Tobasco sauce, especially on camping trips.
