] Let's have a head count. Who, around here, is a Georgette Heyer fan?Apart from me, that is! And which book of hers should be made into a movie?
When my mother died in 1989, and my sister and I were sorting out all her stuff, I had to make a very hard decision. I had to choose between taking all her hardback great novels (Austens, Brontes,Gaskells, etc. and A COMPLETE ,HARDBACK SET of GH novels, over 40 in all. I took the Austens, Brontes, etc, but it almost killed me to give away the Heyers, especially as I had read every single one of them at one time or another! so now I have to content myself with looking her up in the library now and again.
I would really like to see The Grand Sophy made into a movie. I would put Anna Chancellor in the lead role (Sophy is tall, dark, with large grey eyes and a beaky nose. She is a spunky, matchmaking individual with a great sense of humour too.)
Who would I put in as Charles? Not sure.Someone tall, dark and very bad-tempered....any suggestions?
