The only things that occur to me to comment is that my latest reading in Science News mentions that some now think Alexander died of typhus (or typhoid--I always confuse the two, and the shots make me sick in any case q-| ); apparently, the body did not decay after "death". One of these 2 diseases can cause a paralytic state in which breathing is greatly slowed and shallow, so it is a possible explanation.
The other thing is that the only way I can take gin is with tonic--I always thought I was warding off malaria; glad to see that it is a general tonic as well (-;
