] There's this book called "Again Katy (or Katie)" or something like that (you see, I have it in Spanish and it's called "De nuevo Katie") which is a sequel to "Katie" and "Katie goes to School". In the book Katie (or Katy} is travelling in Europe as a companion of a widow and her daughter. The daughter catchs a fever (tiphus?) while in Italy and her hair is shaved and then grows back in little curls. As she is a little reluctant to have her hair shaved, her doll's hair is cut as well. Unfortunately I cannot remember the author's name... Is that the book?
Thanks, Costanza, that's the one. I just pulled out my battered copy inscribed to me from my mother, July 1970. Yikes! The title is "All that Katy Did," and the author is Susan Coolidge. I probably never would have remembered that on my own.
] What about Little Women? Wasn't Beth's hair cut there also?
Yes, I think so. I'll have to check.
