About those Ices...

Wasn't there a place in London called Guenther's or Gunther's that sold ices?
Was this similar to a ice cream shop where people would actually go and have a dessert there, or was it "take-out", or did they only "cater" by supplying desserts to fancy dinner parties? Did they serve different fruit flavors? Were ices the only thing they had?
