To L and T index ] Where would she have worn the ribbons? Can anybody give me the title of a book on the subject?

Hi, Emelye:

My impression is that the ribbons would have been used to "trim" articles of clothing such as bonnets, dresses, maybe caps if the woman is married or a spinster. Someone else can probably pinpoint it for you better.

I don't know any particular books about Regency mourning practices. Were you interested mainly in issues of dress? If not, there are all sorts of other tidbits one can dig up about length of mourning, funeral corteges, mourning wreaths for the front door, etc.

Hope this helps.

Suzanne
