What I have found basically confirms what CathyD said. According to "The Regency Companion", colored dresses were popular during the Regency but, "White muslin with delicate sprig, check, and spotted patterns stayed in style during the whole period." Another quote, "The bride clothes should be white and silver in the fashionable high waisted gowns of the period."
