LOL! You know, I had my assumptions in this directions, but corncobs? Yikes, and Caroline is right, only Americans at this time were much into corn. TP just seems to be a recent invention, One in which I think the inventor should have gotten a medal for, IMHO. The golden roll maybe? I'm going to have to get a copy of the History of Everything book you have, so I can stop worrying about all these things and get on with the rest of my life!
Every time I think I might have liked to live in Jane Austen's time, I believe I should think of all of these little inconveniences that we don't seem to have anymore. Perhaps that will make me feel better about living in the rush, rush, hectic 20th (and 21st) centuries?
