Parliament in the Winter of 1814

Posted by Lisa L. on August 11, 1998 at 12:27:50:

To L and T indexWe all know that gentlemen usually went to Parliament in January. But the winter of 1813/1814 was one of the worst, even causing the Thames to freeze solid and the roads to be impassable.
Does anyone know if Parliament was delayed in 1814 or did they have Parliament despite the fact that many of the gentlemen couldn't make it to London?
Thanks-
Lisa L.
