] Actually, I was checking my name on the web and the very first hit was a thread from this site, description of which reads, "Also happens to be the book where Kristine Hughes must have gotten quite a few of her recipes from which she used for that new book Everyday Life in Regency & Victorian England, word for word!"

I feel you have this straightened out nicely, but just wanted to comment that recipes pretty much have to be word-for-word, don't they?

If I can be of help with further period research, please do feel free to ask. Kristine

Kristine has already been extremely helpful to me and is the one who let her readers know about this place, thus my entry into Pemberley. I am not at all upset by having some of the same information show up in more than one of my reference books. Since I am not able to get to primary sources, having two or more that say the same gives confirmation.

PS: I was not aware of Pemberley in May and still engaged in a struggle with Barnes & Noble to get Kristine's book!
