To elaborate on a few of the other answers, a ha-ha is a special sort of wall used in landscaping. From one side of the wall (usually the "pasture" side rather than the "lawn" side), it looks just like a wall. However, on the other side, the dirt is graded up to the top of, and sometimes *on* top of, the wall. This allows, from the house, a view which is unobstructed by such mundane matters as fences and walls -- all one sees is rolling grass. It looks quite nice, and works quite well also!
