To L and T index Dear Gayle,
I forgot that I wrote on this board so please forgive the late anwser!
I'm LOL at your question "Is it hot?" Because when in peroid clothing at my work that is the first question I hear! It is less hot than you woud believe. We wear layers and each layer traps some cold air so wearing several skirts and petticoats keeps me cooler than being in shorts and a tee-shirt! It kind of funnels the cold air upwards! Although when it is 95 degrees everyone is hot regardless of what they are wearing!
I work at Henry Frod Musueam and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan (USA) It is one of the biggest inndoor-outdoor historical museams in the world! IT is PURE BLISS!! The only fault is that like most musueams it pays minimum wage or a little more! But I'll cry when I have to leave it! I work in a 1880's farm (the best living history site in the world) We do everything but sleep there! A 1870's city house. a 1860's slave plantation. My favorite is a 1760's farm house!
To anwser your other question stays and corsets are slighly uncomfotable to get used to but once used to them it gives you such correct posture and siloete that it is worth it! they can't be hard to move in becuase of all the work that is done on a farm. The 17 inch waist didn't become the fashion until the early 1900's because women befor that time couldn't afford to faint!
Sorry its so long!
BarbaraK
