Thanks for the info and the links. I can see that the cockade is gold in the picture, but I'm still unsure as to the color of the horsehair for the Gillray print. I'll have to do some further checking on that. I know that he was Admiral of the Red at the time this picture was done, and perhaps the horsehair would be of that color. I'm just guessing, so I won't proceed with that part until further study.
It was interesting to see on one of the sites that there is dispute about the color of Nelson's eyes (blue,or brown). I have a period miniature of him and they're blue in that. So, there's more research to do to verify.
