To L and T indexHere we go:

Public Schools are not Public! They are the term used for the Private School system in the UK. The order for them starts with Private Nursery/Pre-School at 4. Prep School starts at 7 (and can be boarding) which takes the little mites through to age 13, where they start at schools such as Eton. They would stay there until 18, when they would go up to University - Oxford/Cambridge being the preferred choice - The Oxbridge Universities.

The State School System begins at 5 (sometimes Nursery can be obtained at age 4) when they go to Infant school until 7, then on to Primary School until 11. Secondary school takes them through to 18 when they join the 'Public School System' for University etc.
