] Yes, baby powder was popular during the 1960's and 70's as an oil absorber. We would put the powder into the hair and then brush, brush, brush and brush some more. There was even a product called "PSST" which was basically a powder that was sprayed into the hair, in emergencies, between washings. "Back then" washing the hair every night was thought to damage the hair.
