] Dear Constanza, I'd say (although I have no evidence to back it up), that this must have been unusual. Catholic weddings usually include a nuptial mass, and until Vatican II one had to fast before communion not just for one hour, but from the midnight before. This would make late weddings really problematic, unless there was no mass. My parents' wedding was at 9 a.m. precisely for this reason, and even afternoon weddings only started to become common (in Ireland anyway) since Vatican II. Unless, of course, the priest waived the fasting rule, which I've never heard of in such cases.
