I have enjoyed reading all the comments here and congratulated myself on my ignorance that allowed me to watch all those adaptations without being irritated.
Or is it also my being used to the theatre. So watching a film, where Richard III is shouting : "A horse a hores My kingdom for a horse" while riding a WWII Jeep, only makes me smile.
But I do get apset about historical production when the behaviour of the character is not consistant with the period's values and etiquette.
I wonder if anyone noticed one of those in the recent (and not so recent) JA film and tv adaptations?
