In response to This made me nuts!!!!!, written by Earlene on July 12, 1998 at 04:14:05

To L and T index ] Yes, Yes, Yes.....Rose shooting a bird at Cal's servant made me nuts. Did they even have a jesture like that then. I was told by a young girl who is from England that a "bird"s equivalent is a backwards peace sign. Is this true and if so wouldn't Rose do that instead?

According to Cameron, when he was asked about this, the gesture has been around since Roman times. Also, Rose is American, not English, so she would make whatever gesture is known in America, not England. As for where she learned it-- she could have learned it at school-- even if she went to an expensive all-girls' boarding school, the girls did learn about things like that from the outside world (many had brothers) and they picked them up from each other.

Or heck, maybe Jack taught her!
