entail

I have been wondering how Mr. Bennet estate was entailed on a Mr. Collins, as it was entailed away from the female line. I should have thought that whoever his estate would have been entailed on whould have the name Bennet as well (as Elliot in P).
I have tried to read about the entail but could not find anything to explain this.
Any suggestions?
