] Just what does upset you about historical productions in general, and the JA ones in particular?

I writhe with embarrassment in Emma 2 when GP, who has been doing not too badly with voiceovers, says "Dear Diary"...
I have nothing on which I can base this assumption, but I am sure that the self conscious custom of young ladies keeping journals which they addressed as "dear diary" has to be a late 19C phenomenon at the earliest? It seems so out of place.

I also wince when I see GP sit down to play the piano without taking her gloves off. Obviously no one in the whole production crew had ever played the piano.
